Dear Parents and Carers,

We have had a busy week this week, Forest school for our Y3’s and Y4’s has been a huge success and the children have been learning how to measure the age and height of trees this morning along with knot work and team building- to say the children were buzzing about their learning is an understatement.

Boom Reader

You should all have had your log on details for Boom Reader now. It was great to have some parental feedback about the new system at parents evening and how this is having a positive impact on children’s reading. Thank you for logging on, if you haven’t yet, please make sure you do, so you can see what your child is reading and be able to comment as well.

Poppies on sale

Our School Councillor’s will be selling poppies this year week beginning 5th November. There are a number of items on sale, ranging from snap bands and bracelets for £2 and then zippers and plastic poppies for £1. This year we are also selling white poppies as well to support a commitment to peace across the world. A minimum donation of 20p will be gratefully received for our red and white poppies.

Road Closure - Bexton Road 21st October

You may have seen that Bexton Road is due to be closed all day on Monday 21st October (9.30-3.30pm). On the Cheshire East website it states until 2.30pm which we are hoping is the case. However, please be mindful on this day that the roads will be even more busy than usual and where possible, it may be quicker to walk to school that day.

Parents Evening

It was lovely to see parents and carers attending our parent meetings this week. I wanted to say a special thank you to our wonderful new School Councilor’s who excelled themselves at both of the evenings directing parents to the correct places.

Attendance Winners

This week’s attendance winners are Year 1 AGAIN with a wonderful 100% attendance, in 2nd place are Reception with 98.6% and in 3rd place are Y5 with 98.5%. A huge well done to Year 1 who will get an extra playtime next week at some point!
