Searching for Evidence 

This week the children have been learning about different ways that the past can be represented. To support this discussion, the children used different pieces of evidence from the time of the fire, to prove or disprove some great fire statements. 

Sequencing

In History, the children have been sequencing the 'Great Fire of London' events from Sunday 2nd September 1666 to Thursday 6th September 1666. They used non-fiction texts, videos and audio books to provide them with all of the information of what happened during the fire and from this they were able to sequence the events. 

Why the Fire Spread? 

Another element to our History learning has been around 'why' the fire sperad so quickly. The children had to use three newspaper articles from the time of the fire, and from this identify some of the key reasons for why it spread. From this the children created and wrote their own explanations using their knowledge.
