Partnership Visits
Maurice Egerton of Tatton Park, Knutsford, was a great traveller, and had an estate in the North of Kenya at Njoro. In 1939 he founded a Primary School there for the children of his workers, and a University specialising in Agriculture. Contact with the school and university was made through Sam Youd, head gardener at Tatton Park, who had previously visited the estate in Kenya. In June 2006 Mrs Hooper, the previous Headteacher, and Miss Campbell were able to visit our sister school in Kenya. Sam also suggested that we create a back-to-back garden for the annual RHS show at Tatton Park in celebration of our link with out sister school. The garden project, which was entitled 'Into Africa,' won a gold award; every child in the school took part.
