Beeston Day Two
Date: 12th May 2018 @ 9:22pm
We have had an action packed day at Beeston. The day started with a delicious breakfast at the outdoor centre. Following this the Y1’s arrived and we all walked into the woods and took part in den building. The classes mixed together to work in small groups to build a den using sticks and pine needles found on the forest floor. The children worked so well collaboratively, that each group built a den which would protect them against any inclement weather. Mr Cornes attempted to prove this, with Mrs Hooper using her water bottle as a rain shower. Safe to say Mr Cornes got a little bit wet! After this we walked back to the centre to have lunch and where we said goodbye to the Y1’s. In the afternoon, we went to a local dairy farm and found out about where our food comes from. It was a great experience for all the children to find out how food gets to our tables. Finally we came back to the centre where we all had our dinner and had a campfire with marshmallows.
